What agile event programs are and why they're essential

Jet Rodriguez

About

the Event

Join us for On What Matters, a conversation series hosted by Ford's executive vice president for program Hilary Pennington, where social justice leaders share their big ideas for a more just world. Through these conversations we are building a social justice community and learning more about the grantees changing our world.

Our first conversation features Dessa Cosma, founding director of Detroit Disability Power and seasoned social justice advocate. Dessa and Hilary will discuss the importance of intersectional approaches to justice, what needs to change to get disabled people out of the bottom of every quality life index, and much more.

Join us live on the Ford Foundation social media channels. We hope you will submit a question through this registration form!

Key takeaways:

About the Event

The Government of Canada and the Ford Foundation are pleased to invite you to an in-person cocktail reception to celebrate the launch of the Alliance for Feminist Movements, a multi-stakeholder initiative focused on increasing, sustaining and improving financial and political support for feminist movements, agendas and policies.

Come hear from high profile thought leaders about the Alliance’s progress since it was announced at the Generation Equality Forum in 2021. This will also be an opportunity to celebrate the central role feminist and women’s rights organizations, feminist movements, and women’s funds play to advance gender equality, peace, and poverty reduction around the world.

About the Rise-Home Stories Project

The Rise-Home Stories Project is a groundbreaking collaboration between multimedia storytellers and social justice advocates from grassroots organizations who work at the nexus of housing, land, and racial justice in the United States. Formed in 2018, they hope to reimagine the past, present, and future of our communities by transforming the stories we tell about land and home.

The Ford Foundation's Just Cities and Regions program has supported the development of the Rise-Home collaboration and these projects as part of its goals to advance new visionary narratives about development, home, and belonging.
